MOSCOW (HPD) — A Russian warplane crashed in a port on the Sea of Azov on Monday after its engine failed, the Russian military said.
The Su-34 bomber crashed in a residential area of Yeysk and caused a fire, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
The ministry added that the engine stopped working shortly after takeoff. The two crew managed to get out of the plane and get to safety.
Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said emergency services were working to put out the fire.
Local authorities said the massive fire engulfed several floors of an apartment building and at least 15 homes were affected. There was no immediate information on possible victims.
